    From injury to fitter, leaner and stronger

    Two years ago I was not a happy lady.  A 'bad' back, an old netball injury to my left knee and a "frozen shoulder" were making me very miserable.  I had attended lots of rehabilitation sessions, seen many orthopeadic specialists taken a variety of pain killers and nothing seemed to work.  A friend suggested I try Pilates and arranged an appointment at Progressive Pilates with Sonia.

    At my first assessment, Sonia asked me a lot of questions and finally what I wanted to achieve and where did I experience pain.  I recall laughing and said that I was so used to living with pain that I was unable to be too specific.  Sonia assured me that she could reduce or eliminate the pain and I recall I was somewhat sceptical but agreed to relax (as much as I was able) and let her 'do her thing'.

    Two years later, I'm fitter, leaner, stronger, relatively pain free, back kayaking at Karapiro, tramping and am planning on doing the Milford Track early next year.  Sonia's next challenge is to turn my 62 year old body into a svelt 20 year old, with a tight butt and sculptered arms.  Now that's a challenge and it's her turn to look sceptical.  Thank you Sonia - you have put the fun and zest back in my life.
